Real Men Do Yoga!

Strength minus Flexibility = Injury.
“Yeah, I know I should do yoga…”It’s what I hear from men all the time. They know they need it—tight hamstrings, tech neck, back pain—but most yoga classes feel like they’re not for them. Why?
Yoga Wasn't Designed for Your Body
Most yoga classes (yes, even those led by men) cater to smaller, hyper-flexible bodies—think dancers, gymnasts, or 5'6" instructors who fold like origami. If you're a regular guy with long limbs, tight hips, and maybe a few injuries, it's easy to feel like a yoga reject. And the Instagram-yoga culture? It doesn’t help.
It's Not You. It's the Class.
Many classes are built around a single body type—if everyone in class looks and moves like the teacher, you're in the wrong room. Look for variety: different ages, shapes, and personalized versions of poses. That’s real yoga.
Ditch the Mirrors. Ditch the Flow.
Yoga isn’t a performance. Lose the mirrors and the fashion parade, and you’ll gain focus, ease, and real results. And forget the fast-paced “vinyasa flow” stuff. You need smart, slower movement—more like martial arts forms than choreography—so you can adapt the pose to your body, not force your body into the pose.
Yoga is Self-Care for Men
Women have long understood self-care—because they’ve seen what happens when aging bodies lose mobility. It’s why I’ve had the same group of women in class for 20 years… and why more men are finally starting to show up.
We Love Our Guys
Men bring humor, energy, and real progress to class. When they’re gone, we miss them! And the ones who start—sometimes dragged in by a spouse—often stay. Our classes now hover around 50% men.
Try a class:
Tuesdays at 5:30 E REC or Wednesdays 5:30 pm, Peace U.
Mondays 8 AM @ North Oaks Golf Club "Stretch for Success" (non-mbrs welcome)
Book HERE.
Note: Just book a drop-in, then you can see if you want to join.
*Not “yoga for men.” Just better yoga, for real people.
